Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (0.25 oz) active dry or instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Dried basil (to taste)
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 4 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions
- Activate the yeast
- In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast.
- Let sit for about 10 minutes, or until the mixture becomes frothy.

4.Mix the dough
In a separate large bowl, add:
- flour
- salt
- garlic powder
- basil
- yogurt
- oil
Mix until combined.
5. Add yeast mixture
Pour the activated yeast mixture into the flour mixture.
Stir until a dough forms.
6. Knead
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface (or use mixer) and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
7. Rise
Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl.
Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
8. Shape the naan
Divide dough into 8 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into an oval or circle.

9. Cook
Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat.
Cook naan for about 1 minute per side, until bubbly and golden with light char spots.
